My husband ordered this after doing a lot of research on knives. I’m glad he did because I would’ve never spent this much myself but I have to admit it’s made a world of difference and I find myself saying “Sometimes you do get what you pay for.” The price is hard to swallow but if you think it through it really is worth it to invest in good tools for the kitchen. You can skimp on spatulas and serving spoons etc...but you really do need a good sharp knife especially if you are cooking 7 days a week. It slices through everything effectively but I can peel carrots or potatoes without having to worry about slicing my fingers. I have a low key fear of knives cause I’ve seen and experienced several mishaps due to them but after using this for a couple weeks now I’m not fearful of it.If you are in your kitchen a lot you won’t regret getting this knife. We aren’t professional chefs. I don’t know how they would weigh in on this knife BUT we mostly eat home cooked meals and I would say we do know our way around a kitchen. We have found that this does suit our purposes. I have no reservation about recommending this.
