I already have some higher-end steak knives but tire of hand washing them if used repeatedly throughout the week as we do for various foods. I was looking for something else to use to suit us and came across these, which sound to do ok in a dishwasher. At the price these are offered, I don't have to worry if they're hand washed. It won't surprise me if we abandon the high-end knives and use these exclusively. Upon taking them out of the package, I was quite surprised by their quality and solid feeling. My elderly mother has difficulty cutting through food as it is. She was shocked by how very easy it was for her to cut through a steak. She said it was easy as cutting once was many years ago.
