Description

A boning knife is used to remove the bones from poultry, fish, and other meat. While thinner than butcher knives, a boning knife offers a thinner blade to help with the ease of boning. The Carl Mertens Country 6" Boning Knife offers durability that's perfect for boning beef and pork, but it is also flexible for boning poultry and fish. Whether you're cooking for a living, for yourself, or your family, you're going to need a boning knife on nights you decide to cook some salmon or chicken, and more! Handmade in Germany, Carl Mertens Country line is made with quality in mind. Handmade in Solingen, Germany All Carl Mertens knives are handmade in Solingen, Germany using the same knife-making techniques for decades, making each knife truly unique from the rest. Production goes through the process of stamping, grinding, and sharpening, similar to their roots, all finished in the same facility. Hand-Forged in Germany The Country line from Carl Mertens showcases the perfect balance of strength and beauty. All Country knives are hand forged to create a single knife that’s incredibly strong and will hold up against the toughest ingredients. Rust-Proof Blade Each blade is hot forged from a single piece of chrome-molybdenum-vanadium steel and then hardened to approximately 58° Rockwell hardness. The blades are pulled off a ceramic disc with an angle of 14° on each side. Beautiful, Unique Design The handles of smoked oak are permanently attached to the blade with three stainless steel rivets. The individual grain makes each knife unique, and is what make the Country line so fantastic. About Carl Mertens Carl Mertens International started in 1919 as a small job-order grinding shop for pocket knives. They’ve expanded their lines over time, adding flatware, kitchen knives, and accessories. Though we’ve reached the 100-year mark since the beginning of Carl Mertens, one thing remains the same; the creation process. Everything made at Carl Mertens comes with a lot of manual work. Production goes through the process of stamping, grinding, and sharpening, similar to their roots, and completed in the same facility, Carl Mertens is known for creating beautiful, contemporary products made using the same traditional craftsmanship from when they began. Exquisite designs have led Carl Mertens to receive numerous design awards from IF Design, Red Dot, Design Plus, and more. Made in Solingen, Germany A small German city settled in between Wuppertal and Dusseldorf, Solingen is full of history for quality gourmet cutlery. Solingen is known as the steel capital of the world and is where all Carl Mertens knives are made. Each Carl Mertens knife is put through a meticulous process of stamping, grinding, sharpening, but results in a unique knife that stands out from the rest.
