Just received my knife, although getting it from the post office was a chore. The knife itself is very stout. The pics show it compared to the Gerber Prodigy. The dimensions are similar, so thought it would be the best knife to compare it to. It's about 1/4 inches thick, and the tip is very strong. It's almost as long as the Prodigy and perfect for bush craft chores. Haven't tried chopping with it, but it will no doubt out perform the prodigy. It's a bit heavier, due to the thicker metal. The knife company is actually LW knives. There are some youtube videos on this knife if you look up that brand. The metal is stamped as D2, and that's a really nice steel. The stonewash finish is great. The Choil is a tad on the small side, but is nice to have. Might have to remove some of the guard to make it wider for my index finger. While both knives are full tang it's good to see the tang in this knife. Neither will break, but this one is just beefier. The knife feels really good in the hand (The prodigy is more comfy), and the paracord feels fine as well.About the paracord... when I saw it online, I thought I'd be able to unwrap it in the field and use it if needed. Not the case. As you can see in the pic, the cord looks to be more for design, as the ends are fused under the handle scales. Also both scales have different pieces of cord. I will have to make some modifications to be able to use it in an emergency or at least change it out if I want a different color. Not enough of an issue to take a star away.If you want a medium to small knife that will never break (almost like a sharpened pry bar) with a very decent steel, then this knife is for you.If you like the prodigy and want it in D2 without the serrations, then this knife is for you.Might take some work getting it from the P.O. but it's worth it.Update: I removed the paracord, which is a pain to do. The handle feels better with it removed. Also the grind on the blade is not perfect, but also not worth taking a start away. If you need to strike a Ferro rod, the spine needs to be made into a 90 angle. A little dremel work is needed.
