AMAZING! I bought this for my boyfriend for Valentine's Day because he does all of the cooking in our home and we have VERY limited storage and counter space. He cooks things fresh and I have bought him MANY knives that are both your standard, heavy stainless Chef's knives as well as recently buying him a set of Black Ceramic Knives that are super-sharp and I don't let him keep in the drawer because I'm so afraid my son will cut himself digging around. So he's been stuck putting the Ceramic knives back into the cardboard and foam box they arrived in (a real pain, obviously) just avoid a safety hazard.I knew I wanted one of these "kapoosh" blocks for awhile because I've seen the colorful, plastic ones around for awhile, but knew we needed one that was sturdy and could handle holding many heavy, large, and/or very sharp professional knives and the cute, plastic ones are NOT it. Finally I came across this version that was tilted (necessary for easy use in our compact kitchen), but also heavy-duty bamboo to handle weight and numerous knives. I bought this hoping we could at least get half of his main chopping and prep knives into it and was shocked when I received it because it was SO MUCH heavier and larger than I imagined by the photos and advertisement here!My boyfriend LOVED the gift and was really happy that he could fit whatever knives he pleased into it and didn't have to use one of those "pre carved" blocks that only hold certain sizes and are essentially dulling your knives taking them in and out of wooden slots constantly. Since we can put both the stainless and the ceramic knives in here together, this is perfect. It's VERY heavy and the bamboo is thick, smooth, and blended colors that look high-end and natural. The "kooshy" area is VERY tight. We have several large Chef's knives in the block and are currently housing 12 LARGE Ceramic and Stainless knives that have weighty handles AND blades. Some are very delicate and sharp (the black ceramic) and others are just heavy (Chef's Stainless) and we can't believe how many comfortably sit in here with no wobble, no tilting, and tipping. It's really quite amazing.The washable and removable inner core is easy to slip in and out and is no problem for cleaning and washing and the look of the entire thing is sleek, durable, heavy, and high-end. We are totally thrilled with this block and would give it 6 stars if we could. The photos included show how many knives we have as well as the ability to hold both ceramic and stainless Chef's size/style knives easily. I figured there were enough photos on this product of the "inside" and what it looks like. People need to know "How many knives can I stuff into this thing?" For us? At least 11 or 12 medium to large knives! What a great purchase! We highly recommend this block no matter what your storage needs!*I have no idea why these photos are sideways...it's some sort of issue with Chromebook and Amazon that I can't seem to correct. If anyone knows why this happens to ONLY things posted from Chromebook via Google Drive, I'm all ears. It's so annoying.*
