Having seen medieval knife and pricker sets on line for much higher prices , I decided to take a look at the one from Szco. The price was more than satisfacory and when I got it, I was even happier. Shipping was very fast and it was well packed. Though it is stainless steel instead of carbon steel, it is faithful to may extant examples found in collections and museums. Being shiny stainless is the only real problem I had with it and that was solved with a bit of 600 grit sandpaper to give the blade and brass bolster a more satin finish. This also had the effect of giving the handle scales a nice slightly stained look. The sheath was quite nice and fits very snug. Maybe a little too snug, but that was remedied by dripping a little cold water down the pricker hole and inserting it back to stretch it just a little. Now its perfect. All in all , Im happy with this company having bought the Ballock Dagger also. If you want a good period style knife and pricker set, you could hardly go wrong with this one.
