I have an old, inexpensive bread knife. It does the job, but it is not so great. Given all the other fancy knives I have which I love, it was time to upgrade my bread knife. That is important because not only do you get a high quality blade, but it is also stronger than my previous knife. It is now much easier to control the thickness of my slices because the blade goes where I direct it.The wood handle is easy to hold and feels good in my hand. The Damascus steel also has an intriguing pattern that adds to style of the knife.Once you use a high quality knife like this, you can never go back to using cheap knives again.
