Collins Pocket English Dictionary - Compact & Portable English Language Reference Book for Travel, Study & Everyday Use

I use a dictionary extensively: a thesaurus –and a spelling dictionary too – they are all invaluable to me. My very first dictionary was a picture one with black and white sketches, which was given to me by my dad who knew I had an interest in words. The most recent one is 16 years old, and is heavy and as large as a cathedral bible –some of zzzz pages are now missing, and the whole book is falling apart!This is not reason of why I bought the Collins pocket edition – I mistakenly thought it was a spelling dictionary which is now due for immediate replacement for reasons of durability? (and a further reason is that my spelling is atrocious!)However, I am very pleased with the Collins pocket edition. Not only is it beautifully presented –in bold, main words in colour print of blue, it is very easy and pleasurable to use – it is a dictionary plus –it offers combining forms of words in the sense of ‘noun, verb, adverbs’ –and more! (....and also saves me from reaching for my ‘bible’ and mismanaging the balance of the gigantic weight of my old book that is genuinely falling apart!)I am very happy to recommend this dictionary of pocket edition – it is a joy to have at my side, and I’m pretty sure it is going to be a durable one too –time will tell, of course?The very book has certainly helped me with checking several words in my review, and is already like a treasured friend at my side for further reviews and creative writing!NB.
