I own quite a few of these knives in the different models and blades that are available. I always replace the clip and after trying the one on it I did the same this time it is velcro and as I wear one of these everyday without fail that wouldn't work I need it to be where I put it on my belt. But as for everything else as with all my TDI it is perfect I loveit.Ok, so I had the other smaller version but lost it. I'm a Deputy with a mid size Department on the West Coast and wanted an equalizer in case someone tried to take my gun since i'm alone a lot on patrol. I loved the old one and it made me feel safer and more secure. Mind set being a decent part of the battle it was a plus. Here are the pros and cons of this knife:Pros: Size and quality; really big blade, almost twice the size of the regular knife. This knife comes sharp as a razor, is the perfect size for grabbing and punching when your fine motor skills become compromised because of your adrenaline dump when someone tries to take your gun. Quality construction. Everything about this knife exudes quality and craftsmanship. This knife will definitely place someone into intensive care or kill them if you used it. Basically, grab and punch is the name of the game. No flicking open or doing anything special. Grab the handle, pull from the friction lock sheath and either punch or slash and your attacker will regret doing what he is doing and stop said action.Cons: I didn't take into account of the size. It never occurred to me someone would develop this knife and make it longer than a regular duty belt is wide. There is no warning that the blade of this knife is longer than a duty belt. Now when its attached, the sheath sticks out the bottom by a good inch, poking me in the thigh and sack. Its not bad when standing but it sticks out and screams "try to grab me" to any daring tweeker. It holds solid to the belt by a mollee style plastic sheath with duel nylon strips with button snaps which are better than the old metal clip but it sticks out a ton and stabs my leg. It would be great for a soldier with a mollee vest but for duty belt attachment to the front it kinda sucks. Its really noticeable and kind of defeats the purpose of the knife. First call I went on yesterday of the first day wearing the knife, scrotmcgrote from the section 8 apartments asked "whats that?". Great, thanks scrotemcgrote... thanks. This is a lot bigger than the original TDI. I have both. The smaller one feels small in the hand, this tanto is much bigger and better suited for larger hands. It’s very thick and tough. You won’t slice tomatoes with this knife, but you could do a lot of hard tasks for sure. It came sharp. I love the serrations. It should cut webbing, puncture cans, dig a hole, pry a door (if you’re stuck) or a paint can lid. It isn’t delicate and won’t be a super slicer or kitchen prep knife. I love the angle of the blade and the heavy-duty feel of it. If you need a thin slicer, you’ll have to carry a companion blade like the Delica. But, if you need a tough, brute of a knife that can take abuse, but cut coarse materials like nylon webbing or rope, pry a lid, or puncture a can without damage to the blade, then this beast is for you. It is not a knife for small hands. It also probably won’t carry as well if your’e a smaller person either, it’s a bigger blade, IMHO. Handle is a bit smooth, I wish it were textured. Sheath is just ok, if you EDC this you might consider a custom sheath. I’d say if you’re used to a G19/23, this might be a knife that is similar in size if that makes sense. Just a comparison for those of you who can legally carry and do so. The knife holds very tight in the sheath, it’s a bit hard to get out, but not terrible. But not great either.STILL Worth every penny in the $40 range easily.I ordered this knife to use as an every day carry alternative to a folding knife. It's excellent in most ways, but has a few issues.Pros.It's legal to carry in many places a larger knife or pocket knife might not be.The sheath is excellent. It's very intuitive to draw from. The materials are good quality. The design of the handle and blade make it quick handling in the hand and very intuitive for a variety of self defense techniques and purposes.Cons.While the sheath is great, the attachment points suck. The straps come undone easy and are too big to fit anything short of a police belt, even then they still come undone easy. If you're going to carry it concealed you will want to buy the metal belt clip (which is pretty darn good), or a tech lok.The blade came very dull and with an asymmetrical edge. It took me a bit of filing and work with a stone before I could get this sharp enough to cut paper, and a little longer before it was razor sharp. The blade steel is good though. The serrations were dull too and required sharpening with a special tool before they were up to par, and are still not the best serrations I've ever used. The handle is a little longer than it needs to be, and makes carrying appendix uncomfortable. My solution to this would be to buy the straight edge version and possibly the smaller version. This is not a small knife. If you are looking for something smaller or easier to conceal I would go for the newer TDI knives. This is a full tang blade with the heft and weight of a serious combat knife. The handle is long and heavy enough to use as a blunt striker if necessary. It would be nice if it came with the belt clip standard instead of the MOLLE rig, but both are functional and durable. The MOLLE rig has a 1.5" loop on the inside of the webbing which can be used as a belt loop as needed, but it doesn't allow for IWB carry. The blade was quite sharp out of the box, and the retention is quite stiff initially. After drawing the knife a few dozen times it loosened up a bit. I would suggest drawing by pushing down on the sheath with your thumb as you draw. It makes drawing much more smooth and quiet than just yanking on it.All around a great knife!El cuchillo es muy bonito, materiales de buena calidad, lo malo es el filo de serie es muy malo, y la cubierta negra se cae con mucha facilidad. Aún así sigo comprando el Ka bar, por su diseño casi único, cumple con su función, ya de ahí si se retoca el filo es excelente. Venia con su funda, manual y llave, todo muy bien.Buena calidad
