Arrived as expected. Product box has the custom foam cutouts for each knife, so it's perfect to keep for storage; as much of a cheese lover as I am, I still don't need to use specialized knives on the daily so I'm loving being able to use the box as an attractive storage option. All three were nice and sharp, ready to use after washing!⚠️ WORD OF CAUTION ⚠️ : I don't know if it was the initial packaging at the point of production, or perhaps it fell/was dropped a few times in transit (no real damage to shipping box, so hard to tell), but upon opening the storage box, all three knives were dislodged from their foam insets and were loose. Managed to give myself a good little slice on one finger because I didn't listen to my own better judgment when I heard the slight rattling inside (because I was just so excited ?). Perhaps a good remedy would be to add another layer of foam or cardboard to fill the gap between knife and lid?All in all, I'd recommend, whether you know a cheese lover and need a gift, you yourself are a cheese nut, or even if you just like to have the occasional round of brie and don't like how it friggin glues itself to the butter knife on each slice.I've been a loyal customer of Mercer from when they were Mercer Tool in Germany to Mercer Culinary in Taiwan. Their Renaissance and Zum lines are my two favorites, and I have recommended them to a lot of friends. Lately, I've purchased several Mercer products and only discovered that they were made in Pakistan or China (like this one). Each of the products from these two countries is poorly designed and crudely made. Pictures of this parmesan knife may resemble a Mercer Renaissance or Wusthof Classic, but it is handle-heavy and of generally poor quality. In the hand, it just feels clunky. Moreover, the handle is not POM but probably cheaper ABS plastic. If this parmesan knife were made in Taiwan, I'm certain that it would have the quality of their Renaissance line, and I believe this should not be listed as a "Renaissance." I'm very disappointed that Mercer is sacrificing its reputation for profits. The knife is of great quality, however it doesn't have enough leverage to cut or spacing between my fingers and the board for me. Just my opinion. They are well designed and also sturdy, but the cheap material corrodes literally in hours! My son is a cheese connoisseur and i thought in jest that this would be a nice gift. He liked it so much that he uses it every time when serving cheese hors d’ oeuvres.
