I've loved Boker products for several years but had yet to purchase a fixed blade knife from the company. This little knife exceeded my expectations. Despite its smallish size, the handle fits neatly into my hand and the thickness of the blade's spine allows for the knife to be used for tasks that I wouldn't trust to some of my larger knives. The blade wasn't super sharp out of the box, but a few minutes with a light sharpening stone and a strop fixed that easily; the blade has retained a fine edge since then even after multiple uses.The sheath is a good quality Kydex but the knife does rattle quite a bit inside of it - that is a big, and my only, frustration with the product. After trying to "remold" the sheath to lessen the rattle, I was able to eliminate the sound but destroyed anything aesthetically pleasing about the sheath. I plan on purchasing a leather, front-pocket sheath for the Nippon and carrying the knife that way.Nevertheless, if you are looking for a smaller fixed-blade, you cannot go wrong with this knife. Amazon, as always, ships faster than the projected delivery estimate - it would be foolish to order from any other site.
