Ok, Do you want a sharp knife and do not have serious skills....GET THIS - Save Fingers and May make your live better.Seriously, I know a little about knives, sharpeners, stones, cooking, cooking prep and blah blah blah. This Taida angle guide is great... For what it does that is... It will not make you a millionaire or even a good cook. It will however show how to get a really good angle on your knife. Remember, knives are different and this tool can only do so much... ITs plastic and will wear out...I say by the time it wears out, you should have graduated to not needing this to sharpen your knife. It is a learning tool. and not a lifetime use tool..Using a stone is really fun and cool.... Great for sharpening knives. To get confidence this is as good as they get... IT WILL WEAR OUT>>>Lastly... Have fun cooking... be safe and cook for others!!MikePS.. I love wetstones...I didn't even know these things existed until I stumbled across them on Amazon a few weeks ago. I decided to try it out since I can't ever seem to get my knives as sharp as my dad used to. It's sort of a gimmicky little thing but on many of my knives it worked very well. Can't give it the fifth star because it doesn't work with some blade shapes or sizes and will never sharpen a knife as well as someone with true skill at using a sharpening stone.I am new to knife sharpening and needed a guide to help me get used to what angle to hold the knife during sharpening. This product does just that, but the only complaint I have, is that it's not long enough for the larger knives. It needs to be another half inch longer to cover more knife length, then it would be perfect. It is really easy to attach and detach from the knife and super easy to use. If you are new to knife sharpening, I recommend this angle guide. It helps you get the knack for a consistently correct angle BUT the idea falls apart a bit when it comes to the curve and taper part of the knife and if your knife has an excessively narrow (slicer/boner) or wide (cleaver) width. It will also mark up the sides of your knife which may bother some who are obsessed with the cosmetic appearance of their $150+ Japanese knives--I could care less.Even when brand new, and cleaned before first use (I rinsed it out, and made sure to open it to make sure nothing was pinched in it), it marked up my knife. Also, as many have noted, these types of guide dont' work on the point (and, in fact, across the lenght of the blade, as the blade narrows, the angle becomes steeper). That isn't unique to this guide and there isn't an easy way around that.I bought this to be my training wheels learning to use a wet stone to sharpen my knives. When I used it on multiple knives and couldn't get it to work. The knives ended up duller, which might be user error. This is why I am giving 3 stars since I may not have been using the guide correctly.I wish the there was better directions. II will try again soon and will update this review if I can get it to work.Does what it is supposed to. Never drug and kept me on line. Doesnt slide on any of my blades, keeps tight. Helps keep hold of a lnife amd makes it easy to move alomg a stone. This knife guide is ok, but difficult if not impossible to use on the curved part of the blade near the tip of the blade especially on smaller knives. I think you get a much better result if you just use a couple of pennies as an angle guide. After a few uses I found that it's just not worth the money, and not something I would use again. It's supposed to help you sharpen a knife, but it just seems to make the whole process more difficult.Take it or leave it. I found using this device more cumbersome and trouble than not using it at all. The angle guide does not glide smoothly over the sharpening stone, and keeping it in place makes sharpening your knife a real task. I ended up just getting the proper angle and using my finger as a guide. 3 stars for at least showing what the angle should be.El material es bueno, se aprecia la calidad y parece que va a durar buen tiempo.
