Wusthof is pricey, and it's a very good knife. We also have a Chicago Cutlery paring knife, and it is likewise a very good knife. The Wusthof was is part of a Wusthof set, and for this reason I chose a Wusthof to replace the Wusthof I had lost. But I can't say I've seen any difference between the two brands ,even though the Chicago Cutlery knife is 25% of the cost. I have no regrets on my purchase because my set is now complete, but as I said at the beginning of this review - it's pricy. It’s a replacement for a accidentally discarded one .This knife cuts well and handles vegetables and fruit very well. Highly recommend this knife for kitchen use. This knife is a great value. It is sharp, solid, and lightweight and it is nicely balanced and comfortable in hand. In my experience, this paring knife is comparable in quality and functionality to the other knives in the Wusthof line and a fantastic addition to one's essential kitchen tools. These knives have become a staple in our kitchen due to quality of blade. However, this purchase really surprised me with the thinner handle. This paring knife is a good blend of sharpness, lightness, and price. Works well in slicing with its sharpness. Does not wear out your hand if using it for a long period. While it is nice to have a heavier blade carry the work of chopping or dicing, a light sharp blade will do the same thing.blade rusted after several months....not sure its a genuine WusthofThis is a very sharp blade, keep that in mind at all times! Very sharp!Second, this paring knife has a pointed tip, so it’s ideal for coring Brussels sprouts for example. You can stab yourself if you are not careful. This is a thin, lightweight, very nice knife. Good value, will last forever. The Price Of This Paring Knife Is Too Expensive For The Quality Of The Steel Used. I Am Comparing It To A Cheap Wilko Knife Which Stays Sharper Longer & Costs Many Times Cheaper. I Now Have To Sharpen The W?sthof Gourmet Paring Knife As It Dulls So Easy.I do love these knives. I received a set as a gift years ago. Silly me, put them in the dishwasher and the handles cracked. I kept my old knives sharp but wanted to treat myself. These are ever so slightly updated in the handle material but I won't be dishwashing them again. Flippin' sharp and keep and edge. This knife has just been delivered and whilst the blade seems reasonable good the rest of the knife feels fairly cheap. The red mark on the handle is just a sticker that peels off the plastic handle. Would have expected from Wusthof. It may be a small knife but it really does the job! Sharpens well - better than any of the Japanese knives I previously purchased. Can't recomment it highly enough!Excellent quality knife and great value
