To be honest I expected something cheap. This is so nice and sturdy and comes with a really well made holder. Yes buy it.Decent small knife. Another's have said, handle fits poorly.I can't believe that this skinning knife was as good as it is for the super low price. It fits perfectly in my hands. I'm pretty sure it is 440 stainless, it isn't stamped. I really didn't have to sharpen it long. The first time I pulled it out of the box I opened a letter with it. It cut smooth and easily right out of the box, it even shaved the hair on my forearm! It still needed touching up, but that's pretty amazing to be from China. The machine work was a little off on the blade, big deal. One of the rivets fell out of the sheath almost immediately after I got it out of the box. I laughed at that for awhile, I easily fixed it. I still gave this five stars because it is a great knife at a great price. I used it to cut the membrane holding the innards inside a deer. It was flawless. Perfect fit, the handle is just the right size as it never got in the way. I hunt everything, I've hunted for 35 years. This is a great knife I love it.This little knife is fantastic for the price! It arrived sharp and ready to go. It skins and separates bones beautifully. I'm actually keeping this one in my car for turtle (and other animal) roadside emergencies- I had it in my day pack when I found a roadkilled box turtle. It made the process of, well, processing her to check for eggs that could have been saved to hatch very efficient!My only gripe is that the finger holes don't do anything for me. I have small hands and found the finger holes uncomfortable. I've let friends with bigger hands inspect it and they agreed that the holes aren't worth it. That being said, it's easy enough to hold with a regular grip, and if you're worried about dropping it (despite the great texture) you could loop paracord or monofilament through the finger holes for a wrist strap.Bang for the buck a difficult deal to beat for someone on a tight budget looking for a very decent performing gutting/skinning knife for processing medium game. The steel is an excellent alloy (440?) stainless the is easy to sharpen and holds an edge well. The nice round curve in the blade makes skinning a breeze with little chance of puncturing the hide. The guthook works perfectly with the two holes in the handle making guthook use a piece of cake. Use a small diameter diamond rod to maintain the edge of the guthook. The cordura nylon sheath is more than adequate for the purpose. I liked this knife so much this is my second one I bought in several years.Received a couple of these. Very impressed with quality for price. Highly recommend. Not a general purpose knife, so can't indiscriminately give them out as gifts, though I would like to. Haha. Looking forward to the next hog!It's a thick blade with a good weight on it. The blade was rather dull out of the box, but it sharpened nicely.Have not used yet to gut a deer, but it seems like a quality blade. The finger grip seems a little cheap.My 4 year old grabbed my phone and some how bought this knife and with my collection I wasn't sending it back thanks sonKnife came duller than a certain president! Other than that not too bad, nothing to write home about but it's a cheap steel knife that will GET ER DONEVery well made and durableGot this as a gift for my good friend who hunts.
