8" Damascus Hunting Knife with Sheath - High Carbon Damascus Steel Blade & Exotic Wood Handle - Perfect for Outdoor Camping, Hunting, and Survival Adventures (Model OHM-795)

Overall, the knife has a nice appearance. It was relatively sharp out of the box, but needs quite a bit of sharpening work.The handle scales have a difference in length of approximately 1/8". I can live with it.However, the grind on one side of the blade begins 1/2" from the tip of the blade while the grind on the other side starts at 5/8" from the tip. It's odd that a maker would present a decent looking and functioning blade with these obvious flaws and lack of attention to detail.Is it Damascus steel? I believe it is a version of Damascus, but I have not polished and re-acid etched the blade to know for certain.I can't say $25 is a good price for this considering the basic flaws, but factoring in the quality of the sheath - which is surprisingly nice - it seems to be a fair value, overall. Again, I do wish the knife was more symmetrical.I will update this review after some basic field testing.UPDATE: Bought a second shortly after buying the first and the grind was spot on. Very sharp out of the box. Great color on a capable knife. Regarding the sheath: I like it, but it could use some form of knife retention. I run a lanyard through the snaps and that holds it in well enough for most applications.
