The construction and quality of the knife are awesome. My only gripe is the opening of the knife... to deploy it you have to overcome the resistance using your thumb, and ergonomics aren't designed quite right. I end up using two hands to open it when my other knives can be opened and closed one handed. The other issue is the framelock..again very very tight and hard to overcome. Knife itself is really nice though..Edit: after months of use the knife has "loosened" and worn in , so opening is a lit easier, if not still a bit awkwardI like Esee knives but this isn’t my favorite.Feels cheap in hand and the frame lock is unbelievably tight. Had to actually bend the frame lock out a bit to make it useable.EDC just for the fact that I don’t care if it gets ruined. One scale is g10, rough texture feels good in hand, the back scale is stainless with a frame lock.... honestly I'd prefer two stainless scales or even titanium for the front scale stainless for rear for $50...g10 seems mehI really wanted to love this knife. I'm a huge ESEE fan and love the ESEE-3 which this is similar in blade size and shape to. I carried it for a couple days but overall it just isn't that good. The frame lock is too stiff and the thumb slot is too small which combined makes disengaging the lock difficult. Opening feels cheap with a not so nice sounding click when locked. The pocket clip when moved to tip-up presses on the frame lock which seems to add even more pressure to the lock increasing both detent and disengagement. This seems like bad design as the pocket clip could have been angled slightly to avoid touching the frame lock when in tip-up configuration. Probably why this comes tip-down from factory. If they would change the steel to another better budget option like 14C28N or D2, fix the frame lock action and feel, and modify the clip this would be a great knife. It looks very nice, has good lines and comfort, comes with a deep pocket clip, and good G10 with nice traction. If improved It could become the "Pocket ESEE-3" so I hope they improve this knife at the very least by fixing the frame lock issues. The one I received says First Production run.Fan of Esee fixed blades. Decided to try a folder from them. Love the blade shape and the price was reasonable. Fit and finish is decent. Frame lock, locks up tight. Blade is reasonably sharp out of the box. Not crazy of the black finish on the blade and steel handle. Too shiny for me. Would have preferred a more matte type finish. I think this will make a really decent beater knife for me. The negatives and the reason for a 4 star review is that the frame lock is hella hard to disengage and I find the steel portion of the handle is a little slippery in my hands which prevents me from deploying the blade consistently (I'm right handed). I still would recommend to anyone.what you see is what you get. a solid folding knife. I do wish it was assisted opening, but its not a big deal. blade stay open and rock solid. came SUPER sharp. i placed the blade on my arm to test it cutting hear, cut myself before i got to cut hair. pocket clip is also nice and tight. glad i bought it.Very sharp knife, I use it for opening and cutting up boxes
