So I don't know about you but I have a boy who does want to play with weapons time and time again but I hate swords and things that are hard that could hurt other kids if they are playing dress up or whatever. We needed a knife for his costume this year (he wanted to be Joker). I was pleased when I received this because it looks real enough but is made out of a softer material that wouldn't hurt another kid or himself. I looked it over thoroughly before i let him have it. Very pleased with it and it did look real from far away. We only used it really for the costume but I'm sure there will be other costumes in our future since he is only six. He was more interested in carrying his candy bag so the knife wasn't a problem whereas people thought it was real and got scared, etc. but I would imagine if he were older and had it, people would think 'maybe' it was real but you can tell pretty quick that it is just a fake knife and shouldn't be a danger like a "fake gun" or something of that nature. I thought it was perfect for a costume addition since boys will be boys and some of the costumes do call for weapons sometimes. I'd rather him have something like this than something that will hurt someone else or be mistaken as a danger to someone else.
