Due Buoi Grafting Knife 252L. This is a better-than-average grafting knife made with a nice walnut handle, sturdy backspring for keeping the knife safely open and closed, and an economical blade steel called "C70".C70 steel is modestly stainless, Chemical composition:Carbon: 0.70%Chromium 0.03%0.25% siliconManganese 0.71%Molybdenum 0.02%Quenching and tempering:Tempering temperature 850 ° COil, Air, Water coolingTempering at 150-200 ° C in the oven for a duration of 60/90 minutes.Hardness 59 HRCIt takes a nice sharp edge with moderate durability. The edge will typically roll rather than chipping, which means in a grafting knife, use with care and it will stay sharp for a long time. Typical hardness is HRC 59/60. While listed as "stainless", I would recommend keeping the blade lightly oiled for winter storage. The pricing is about right. This knife is much better than typical chinese-made knives, and not as good as the German made knives by Brand "T". I would expect this knife to last a very long time, with minimal care touching up the edge and light oiling when stored. This knife is NOT designed for use by hunters and campers. Batoning will cause the edge to roll, and bone may chip the blade. This is meant for use in grafting fruit trees. For that purpose, the blade will penetrate deeply yielding a nice clean cut. The bark-lifter works well. This knife will outlast several of the ones with the red plastic handles that you see in garden-supply stores. On the other hand, those cheap knives do resist rusting. A bit of wax and elbow grease will make the walnut handle look very nice. If you own a huge orchard, this knife may disappoint you. For the rest of us, this knife will probably last a lifetime.I hope this review helps. I received no discount or compensation for writing this review.
