Works well as a kitchen bench scraper and on drywall, too!I had one of these in my kitchen for years where I used it to clean off my work surface after preparing something sticky or otherwise nasty to deal with. I also use it for scooping up chopped vegetables (or whatever) to dump in the frying pan or pot. The slightly sharp edge is perfect for cutting grilled sandwiches.I bought it at the hardware store for a fraction of what a "real" kitchen bench scraper cost. I also think the handle on the joint knife makes it easier to use than the handleless bench scrapers. Being stainless steel, when I was done with it, it went straight into the dishwasher.Fast-forward to last winter. I hired a guy to do some renovations in my kitchen, which included tearing out walls, insulating, and installing new drywall. In the process of shuffling things around, he came across my bench scraper and assumed it was his six-inch joint knife. Needless to say, it did a good job on my walls and then went home with him.I came back here to Amazon to buy another to replace it. Even though it now costs a bit more than a bench scraper I still feel is worth every penny. Made in the USA is an added bonus. And we all lived happily ever after.
