An extremely nice knife, well made, good materials. Balance is very nice, weight is good, SOLID. Love the tapered full tang! Love the mosaic handle pins! Love the Guayacan Ebony wood scales! Lanyard hole does fit 550 cord. Spine appears to be 90 degrees and good for ferro rod! Lots of belly for skinning & cutting, yet retains a decent tip for piercing needs. Easy to sharpen. Love the jimping!!! Handle feels good in regular and reverse grip. A rarity: Comes with a really nice leather "drop in" style sheath! When in sheath, the knife looks very discreet... BUT, the sheath has no drain hole!Pros:• Good balance• Well made, solid• Comfortable handle made from great materials (feels good in reverse grip)• Blade geometry – lots of belly for skinning & cutting, yet has a decent tip• Lanyard Hole fits 550 paracord• Excellent jimping• Full tang, that is tapered to save weight!• Beautiful mosaic handle pins• Spine is 90 degrees for firesteel• Comes with a very nice, discreet leather sheath (knife really disappears in it)Also, a few minor manufacturer defects... Handle spacer is not perfect, there's a gap on the bottom back. Swedge grind is uneven, causing the tip to look bent. Tip of the finger choil is somewhat sharp, where it comes to a screwdriver like shape. Leather sheath had a small dark discoloration on the outside. Steel: Exactly the same content as Böker's standard 440C... Not as stainless as other stainless steels, will require a bit more upkeep to keep "perfect" finish. Mineral oil brings it back to it's luster! It’s a little heavy for a hiking knife, but it’s built so well it makes it well worth that weight if you don’t mind!Cons:• Sheath has no drain hole• Minor manufacturer defectso Fiber handle inlay has a gap in bottom right of knifeo Swedge grind is uneven, causing tip to look bento Sheath has small dark discoloration on the outside• Tip of the finger choil is somewhat sharp, where it becomes like a screwdriver• Slightly heavy, depending on your needs and weight limitsI've attached pictures. Check the link below for a video review! -T3 (Tools, Tactics, Training)https://youtu.be/qNcU5CSORKkThis is a very hansom blade. The grip is comfortable in the hand, and it really just 'feels good' to hold. I polished the edge a bit, but other than that, I can find no fault with this knife at all. It IS a big knife, not something that you will EDC (unless maybe you live in the Yukon), but it is still a very classy knife, one that will be well suited to any outdoors-man. I can only give this knife the very highest of recommendations.Buy it...you won't regret it.Came in pretty dull and the bevel wanders to one side as you go from the handle to the point. I was going to put an edge on it and my sharpening system showed the bevel being way off very quickly. The handle scales are loose as well and rattle if it is tapped or bumped. I didn't expect it to be a razor out of the box but at least the bevel could have been even. Looks like a newbie ground the blade bevel. Not something I would expect from Boker! I did contact them and they say they will make it right but I have to eat the shipping to get it there. First and last Boker purchase. If they would take care of the shipping and handle it like I expect, I would be more apt to go with them again. More the principal than the money. It's the same as them saying hey you got a crappy knife but your gonna have to pay to get it here for us to make it right. Just frustrating!!!!!Beautiful piece for the priceI love it, the wood used in the handle with every detail in it, the steel and the weight, It’s razor sharp so I was able to shave my hand hair in the first use.Update:The blade gets dull quickly and doesn’t hold the sharpness for long timeI think the steel quality is not good enough.Second update:The value is not worth the quality of the productSHEATH IS GARBAGE.Second time I have tried this knife. BOTH times on the first day, inserting the knife cuts the side of the sheath wide open and could've cut me!I've owned many knives for many years and never had a sheath that was this dangerous.huge huge steel quality, very stron grip and thicknessit a kind of perfect knife - confident in itif you want a knife you can either cut the bread, it is perfectSimple said, this is the real deal.Let you know more after summer of 2016. It should should up to Alaska punishment.
