I saw this knife holder on a tv show, the character raised an eye brow at it, but still grabbed a knife for protection. I like it, wanted to update my kitchen, take out the old wooden knife block, some fun and whimsy. The knives are good quality, great for bread, veggies, everyday cooking. The Knife man is plastic, has a plastic base, stands well.I was so excited to get this. As I was unwrapping though, I realized it was pretty cheaply made. The plastic MAN is hollow and thin, and as you can see in the pic above, the one large knife doesn't even fit - it was so hard to even pull back out. The knives are supposed to fit in the plastic casings but most didn't so it didn't feel safe. I knew that I would end up replacing this set within a year, and that is just a waste of money. For $100, I would have expected something better. So I am returning.TLDR: cute but cheap, not worth it,Nice knives, but wasn't aware that the holder was plastic. Worried after repeated use it will chip or easily crack/chip. Overall cool idea for the kitchen.This is distressing. For the price it is such poor quality. First the scuffs were so obvious and I thought I would have to live it because I'm disabled and cant get to PO to return without having to pay someone. Then I took out the knives and they either dont stay in the slots or cant fit into slot due to construction inhibiting them.I just wanted something fun.....The quality of the knifes are amazing love using themThis item was cheap plastic and arrived scratched up. Pulling knives in and out is extremely dangerous. The knife securing caps are cheap plastic and not cut correctly. This item is not worth the moneyWas suppose to b a Xmas gift.Very very Poor quality knives and base
