Original Walther P38 Tactical Folding Knife - High-Quality German Engineering for Outdoor, Survival & EDC Use

I just bought this knife and I really like it. Only reason I won't give it 5 stars is because knife is made in china and this is not included in the descriptionGreat feel, but the color of the grips are way off from the Walthers.Knife is perfect, it comes with Walther black leather sheat, Shipped to my address in Canada, thanks Knife Country USATHIS KNIFE RULES! GREAT PRICE! FINE WALTHER QUALITY. GOES ABSOLUTELY PERFECT WITH MY WALTHER P-38 RIG! A MUST FOR ANY COLLECTOR OR WALTHER ENTHUSIAST!Very difficult to sharpen and does not hold an edge well. It looks great and it feels comfortable in the hand, but so does a hammer and that's not what I want when I buy a knife. I tried many different ways of sharpening this from cheaper Smith's tools to a diamond combination sharpener. I used everything up to breaking out the specialized sharpening stones. I'm not even sure if this is 440 steel. Also, the sheath is garbage. The metal handle that secures the strap which holds the handle in snapped off and could not be re-secured. Mine now lives in a Buck 119 Sheath. I was so impressed with the Buck sheath that I ended up getting one. If you watch for them on sale you can snatch one for $45. It sounds like a lot, but it's worth it. Out of the box the Buck 119 will slice paper. It has a lifetime warranty. I'd recommend it compared to this. Buy nice or buy twice.Garbage. Blade is fitted with a 5mm tang into the cast iron handle and is tack welded in there. Handle panels are the cheapest quality plastic out there. I believe blade is not 440C at all. Sheath is useless as it does not retain the knife at all.Let the pictures talk for themselves.Very well made, 440 stainless, full tang with decent balance point. Made in China but for the price it's one heck of a deal. Makes a great camp knife or companion piece to the classic P38 pistol. Larry S., PAChina. I don't even buy my china from China!How could Walther put their banner on this?Are their guns made in China?Too bad, nice knife.Mich hat beim Kauf der Griff gereizt, während der Bundeswehrzeit hatten wir auch die P1 mit dem Griffstück. Was mich dann aber an der Verpackung stört sind Bilder von der Wehrmacht, das Kapitel sollte eigentlich abgeschlossen sein.Zum Messer: Material 440C und Schärfe sind o.k., kann man mit arbeiten. Auf den ersten Blick denkt man an ein Integralmesser, der Erl (soll nicht so kräftig sein) steckt jedoch im Griff. Muss man berücksichtigen, Hebeleien sollte man sich gut überlegen. Die Griffschalen sind nicht sauber verklebt, der Kleber hat offensichtlich nicht gereicht. Teilweise ergeben sich Spalte, die man nicht tolerieren sollte, hier ist Nacharbeit gefordert.Für mich ist ein absolutes Nogo die Scheide! Billiges Kunstleder geht gar nicht! Selbst bei billigeren Messern findet man Echtleder, Plastikzeug passt überhaupt nicht! In der Produktbeschreibung steht "Leder"Holster, dann erwarte ich Haut vom toten Tier und kein Plastik.Irgendwo liegt das Teil zwischen 2 und 3 Sternen, aufgrund des günstigen Preises (der auch auf eine fernöstliche Fertigung schließen lässt) für 440Cgibt es wohlwollende 3 Sterne, mehr ist nicht drin.Preso per il design accattivante.Non proprio soddisfatto per via della costruzione del coltello nella sua interezza. Arrivato nei tempi ma con due leggeri difetti nella.lama come se fosse stato leggermente usato. Il manico, con colore anticato mi sembra di struttura fragile e mi lascia pensare che dato il peso del coltello se cascasse in terra si possa incrinare se non rompere.Finger weg von diesem Messer!Auch wenn dies laut Vertreiber Walther ein Zitat:"stabiles Gebrauchsmesser" sein soll ist dieses lediglich zum Butter verstreichen geeignet. Walther teilte mir übrigens mit, dass der Hersteller Umarex ist und nicht Walther.Dieses Messer ist in keinster Weise ein Gebrauchsmesser, da es quasi KEINEN Erl besitzt. Dies ist normalerweise die Verlängerung, welche die Klinge im Griff befestigt. Bei dem P 38-Messer ist der Erl lediglich 1,5 cm lang und ist auf billigste Art und Weise mit einer Niete und zwei Schweißpunkten im Griff "gesichtert". Das Messer brach sofort nach mäßiger Beanspruchung.Dieses Messer ist wirklich nur für die Vitrine gedacht und für nichts anderes !Mi aspettavo di meglio.
